INTRODUCTION:

The Kuari Pass trek is a challenging but rewarding hike that takes you through the heart of the Himalayas. OVERVIEW:

The trek begins in the town of Joshimath, located in the state of Uttarakhand. From there, you will hike through the Nanda Devi National Park, which is home to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. You will also cross the treacherous Kuari Pass, which is a challenge but well worth the effort.The hike is approximately 55 kilometers long, and it takes an average of six days to complete. The altitude can be a challenge, so it is important to be well-prepared for the trek. The trek starts with a climb to the Gorson Bugyal, a high-altitude meadow. The trail then winds its way through the forests of the national park, crossing several mountain passes, including the Kuari Pass. The final leg of the trek is a descent to Joshimath.

Day wise guide: 

 Day 1:

The trekkers will be picked up from Dehradun or Haridwar and driven to Joshimath. Lunch and breakfast can be consumed en route.. Enjoy the road side view.

Day 2:

The trekkers will be driven to Dhak, the starting point of the trek. From Dhak trekkers have to pass a steep and gradual ascent trail to reach Gulling top. By evening trekkers will reach Gulling top. Stay  overnight at a campsite.

Day 3:

5.5 km. trek for 5 hrs. will take the trekkers to the campsite near Kuari pass by afternoon. An overnight stay is required to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Day 4

Trekkers will start after breakfast . Trekking through the steep and gradual ascent, trekkers will reach Khullara top. From Khullara top they have to trek towards a broken bridge with a frozen stream. From there  a strenuous climb will take the trekkers to Kuari Pass. THe trekking tiredness will vanish immediately when you look around and view various Himalayan peaks in front of you. Kedarnath peak, Kedar Dome, Chaukhamba, Balakun, Neel Kantha, Mukut parvat, Hathi Ghoda, Dronagiri, Kamet, Changbang, Nanda Devi, Kalanka and many more to see. Trekkers will return to camp after spending time at the summit.

Day 5

After breakfast trekkers will start the day’s 11 km. trek to Dhak. From Dhak they will come down to Joshimath by car. Overnight stay at Joshimath.

Day 6 

Back to Haridwar or Dehradun for returning home.
