Key Differences Between Machine Learning And Artificial Intelligence

AI or artificial Intelligence, and machine learning are closely related to each other. It is not about just closer characteristics but also a connection with each other. Machine learning and artificial Intelligence are generally part of computer science. In this case, they are correlated with each other.

These two technologies are trending nowadays, and also, in every software, these two technologies are integrated. They are not only an integral part of the software, but they are an integral part of the hardware. In this article, we are going to discuss some of the key differences between Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

What Is Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial Intelligence is the part of computer science that makes the computer system capable enough that it can mimic human Intelligence. The term “Artificial Intelligence” consists of two words one is “Artificial,” and the other is “Intelligence.”

It means the human-made thinking power. Apart from that, Artificial Intelligence can be defined as AI technology in which we can create intelligent systems which can replicate human Intelligence.

Based on the capabilities, AI can be classified into three major categories such as:

  • Weak Artificial Intelligence
  • General Artificial Intelligence
  • Strong Artificial Intelligence

What Is Machine Learning?

Machine learning is a technology that can work by extracting knowledge through data. In this case, Machine learning enables the computer system to make decisions or make predictions by using historical data without being clearly programmed. Machine learning generally uses a plethora of data; then, it can generate the correct result as per the desire of the physical environment.

Machine Learning can be divided into three parts such as:

  • Supervised learning
  • Unsupervised learning
  • Reinforcement learning

The Key Differences Between Machine Learning And Artificial Intelligence

Below we have mentioned some key differences between Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

1)Artificial Intelligence also stands for AI. In this case, Intelligence is defined as the ability to apply and acquire simulated human knowledge. On the other hand, ML stands for machine learning. In this case, it is defined as the acquisition of skill and knowledge.

2)Artificial Intelligence is all about increasing the chances of success but not accuracy. Meanwhile, Machine Learning aims to increase accuracy, and at the same time, it doesn’t care about increasing the success rate.

3)AI or Artificial Intelligence aims to develop an intelligent system that is capable of performing various complicated jobs. At the same time, machine learning is about contributing to constructing machines that can only do jobs where they have been trained.

4)It has the ability to work like a computer program and also does smart work. Meanwhile, machine learning takes data and learns from data. In this case, machine learning can learn several things from the physical environment.

5)The goal of Artificial Intelligence is to replicate natural human Intelligence to solve several complicated tasks. On the other hand, Machine Learning‘s goal is to learn from data on specific tasks so that it can maximize the performance on that task.

6)Artificial Intelligence has a massive range of applications in several sectors like food, grocery, and several e-commerce sectors as well. Meanwhile, the scope of machine learning is not much like Artificial Intelligence. In this case, it has a hinder-like scope.

7)Artificial Intelligence has the capacity to make the correct decision. Therefore the decisions in the business industry or others that have been made by AI won’t be wrong. Meanwhile, Machine learning allows systems to learn something new from the plethora of software data.

8)Artificial Intelligence is about developing a system that can mimic humans’ Intelligence to solve several problems. On the other hand, machine learning involves creating several self-learning algorithms through which it can adapt many habits from the physical environment.

9)AI will always go for finding several favorable solutions for humans. In this case, AI has been used in several software applications such as Robo chats, navigation applications, and so on. Therefore this software always helps people or users to make the correct decisions or ability to solve issues.

But Machine learning or ML will go for the solution whether it is optimal or not. In this case, machine learning will only adapt to the behavior of the physical environment, which is not accurately optimal.

10) Artificial Intelligence is the broader family, including ML and DL. These are the components of Artificial Intelligence. Meanwhile, machine learning is a subset of Artificial Intelligence
