How to Setup A Stripe Merchant Account?

stripe merchant account

Stripe is a company that provides payment processing services. It’s both a credit card processor and an e-commerce platform, but can also be used to collect money from other sources such as data subscriptions, subscriptions to events and memberships. Stripe offers its own online merchant account that you can open immediately upon signing up for their service. Here are the steps:

Signing up for stripe

To sign up for stripe merchant account, you will first need to create a business account. Once you’ve done that, select the plan that works best for your needs and complete the sign up process. You’ll then be asked to confirm your email address—this is so we can send periodic notifications about important features like new chargebacks and refunds.

Link your bank account to stripe

You can link your bank account to stripe.com by visiting the “Bank Accounts” tab and clicking on “Add Bank Account.” Then, follow these steps:

  • Enter your bank’s routing number and account number.
  • Enter your bank’s name and address.

Get your verification documents ready

  • Take a photo of your government-issued ID and upload it to the merchant account.
  • Upload your utility bill, if applicable.
  • If you’re applying for a business license, send in that form with all the required paperwork (including tax documents) and bank statements from past three months, as well as any other pertinent information about what type of business you want to operate — such as whether or not there are employees working within its walls at this time, etc.

Activate your terminal

You can activate your terminal by plugging it into a power source and opening the stripe terminal app. Follow these steps:

  • Open the Stripe app on your iPhone or Android device, and then tap “Terminal” in the upper-right corner of screen. Your terminal will be listed under “Terminals.” If you have more than one, select whichever one you want to use for this transaction (I recommend using a different device for each).
  • Tap Accept Payments from Customers at any time during business hours by selecting “Accept Payments From Customers.” You’ll see an option labeled “Instant Approval” if none of your customers have previously authorized payment via Stripe Connect yet; otherwise, choose “Authorize Now.” If someone has already authorized payment via Connect but hasn’t yet paid for their order—for example, if he or she just filled out some information about how much he/she would like today before coming into my store—then I should not let them buy anything right away because it might mean they’ll run into problems with taxes later on down the line since as soon as payment goes through there won’t be any paper trail left behind showing who owes what money according how much was spent during those moments when negotiations were made between buyer & seller rather than having everything written down beforehand like normal business transactions tend towards having done since last century where people still felt comfortable doing things such

Conclusion

As you can see, setting up a stripe merchant account is not rocket science. It may take some time and effort but it’s worth it in the end. So don’t give up if you have any problems along the way! You’ll just have to restart from step 2 again after having solved each problem.
